Human Services
Are you ready to make a difference?
Enroll in Highline College’s Human Services program and develop the critical skills, knowledge and values required in this dynamic field.
Human Services professionals work to make positive impacts in their communities in sectors such as youth development, aging adults, refugees/immigrants, homelessness, and domestic violence. Students are prepared to be frontline workers in both government, nonprofit, and educational settings, supporting and empowering children, youth, adults, families, groups, and communities.
The Human Services curriculum covers a wide range of topics including case management, counseling techniques, ethical standards, and more. You will also have the opportunity to apply classroom learning to the ”real world” through a field experience program. Faculty are experienced professionals who are dedicated to providing you with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the field.
Human services agencies will require you to complete a criminal history background check prior to offering you an internship or employment.
