Highline's Cultural Learning Communities are small groups of students who come together with a shared set of academic goals. Within these group, students collaborate closely with one or more professors. When students join a learning community, they enroll in courses that are either thematically related or enriched through peer-to-peer learning experiences.

Umoja Black Scholars Program

Umoja is a community dedicated to enhancing the cultural and educational experiences of African American and other students. We believe that when the voices and histories of students are deliberately and intentionally recognized, the opportunity for self-efficacy emerges and a foundation is formed for academic success.

Promise Scholars is a community of educators and learners committed to the academic success, personal growth, and the actualization and perpetuation of excellence for First-year, Black and Brown self-identified Males/non-binary.

Juntos - LatinX Learning Community

Juntos is the NEW learning community at Highline College geared toward incoming Latinx/Hispanic/Latina/o/e-identified students. Juntos is a supportive space focusing on the unique needs of Latinx/Hispanic students. Juntos centers acknowledging historical and systemic barriers to academic achievement and offers culturally relevant curriculum, mentorship programs, and peer support networks.
