Scholarships Need Money? Student wearing goggles and graduate wearing commencement regalia

Do you need money for college? The Highline College Foundation is now offering scholarships for the 2023-24 academic year.

All students are encouraged to apply, including part-time, undocumented and international students.

Whether you’re an incoming student or just about to graduate, there may be a scholarship for you.

Scholarship awards are not based only on need or merit. Some scholarships target single parents while others look for second-year students that are close to completing their degree. Still, others are based on the program or degree a student is pursuing, such as engineering, music and nursing.

The application process is designed to be easy and straightforward, with a potentially great payoff for a short amount of time. Students should log into the application using their myHighline credentials (same as Canvas) and most of their data will be automatically imported. Awards range from $500 to $4,500. Information and qualifications for all scholarships are available on the application, which you can find on the scholarship webpage.

You should also be prepared to write an essay, which will vary in length depending on the scholarship.

Last year, Highline students received more than $80,000 in scholarships from the Foundation. This year, the Foundation expects to award up to $180,000 to students.

Scholarship recipients will be notified this summer, either by email or by logging in to the scholarship website. The deadline is May 14, 2023.
